Coaching finalists meet community members

RITZVILLE – A small number for community members turned out to meet and greet finalists for the Lind-Ritzville/Sprague/Washtucna girls basketball coach March 30 at Ritzville High School.

The finalists are Bryce Court, a teacher at Lind-Ritzville High School and John Galbreath, a Ritzville farmer.

Court is a graduate of Liberty Bell High School in Winthrop and was a teacher and coach at Garden Valley, Idaho. Court has been teaching in Ritzville since 2019.

His coaching experience includes middle school girls in Idaho, and as an assistant for football and boys basketball in Ritzville. He is currently the head golf coach.

Galbreath is a 1997 graduate of Ritzville High School.

Galbreath played college basketball at Big Bend Community College in Moses Lake and University of California-Riverside. He was Lind-Ritzville Middle School basketball coach during the past season.

Both candidates have interviewed with a committee of representatives from all districts in the athletic combine, as well as two school board members, a parent and three other coaches.

A decision and hiring recommendation is expected by the April School Board meeting.
