I-90 crash leaves one injured

SPRAGUE – One person was injured in a collision, Sunday, Feb. 27, Milepost 248 of Interstate 90.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision occurred around 6:20 PM, when a Kenworth tractor-trailer driven by Scott A. Foster, 60, of Spokane struck the rear of a 1995 Chevrolet pickup driven by Darleen Herrera, 63, of York, Penn. Herrera was transported to a Spokane hospital.

The impact sent the pickup through the median and it came to rest on the eastbound shoulder, the patrol said. The semi came to rest partially blocking the right lane of westbound I-90; Foster was not injured.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts, the patrol reported, noting both vehicles were damaged.

Electric co-op issues refunds

RITZVILLE – Big Bend Electric Cooperative has announced refunds for current and former members.

Members who purchased power during the excess revenue period will be receiving part of the $2.2 million in refunds.

“We pride ourselves on this, always wanting to give back additional funds to our customers,” member services manager Kelly Haugh.

Big Bend Electric Cooperative, at 1373 N. Highway 261, serves more than 5000 customers in Adams and Franklin counties.

Members who purchased power during the excess revenue period will be receiving part of the $2.2 million in refunds.

The cooperative is prohibited from keeping excess revenue generated by the business.
