RITZVILLE – The city is proposing a sewer collection system project.
There was brief discussion concerning the planning phase of the project during the City Council’s digital Feb. 15 meeting.
The meeting was held remotely due to illness among staff.
The project would be funded under the federal Community Development Block Grant program offered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
The project would bring city sewers to a neighborhood in the area of East Eighth Avenue, where a number of homes are currently connected to what was once a private sewer line connecting a single home to the city service.
In other business, the council:
Passed Substantial Completion Certificates and released retainage funds for the standpipe reservoir recoating project. The retainage payment in the amount of $22,504.62 was released to Industrial Coatings Unlimited, LLC.
Reappointed Gordon Killian to a two-year term on the Adams County Mosquito Control Board.
Heard the city Planning Commission will meet at 7 p.m. March 9 at City Hall, 216 E. Main Ave., and by remote connection, to begin updating the city’s comprehensive plan.
