Many fine costumes at
Valentine Masque Ball
The Valentine Day masquerade dance given under the auspices of the Fair Association at Community Hall Tuesday night was a grand success from every standpoint. About seventy tickets were sold and the floor was comfortably filled from 9:00 till 12:30.
The costumes embraced almost everything imaginable. Many were very handsome and Indians, cowboys, cow girls clowns, policemen, etc., were there in abundance. Three prizes were awarded, one for the handsomest costume, one for the best make-up and one for the best imitation.

Missing man found
dead in his room
Officers were called to a cabin in the rear of the old Linn residence on Tuesday afternoon to investigate the death of Dace Mahoney, 46, whose lifeless body was discovered earlier that same day by Joe Ferri.
Mahoney, who had been employed at the Public Market, had failed to report for work for over a week, which prompted Ferri, a fellow employee, to go to his living quarters.
The door was locked from the inside but looking through a window Ferri could see Mahoney's apparently lifeless body on the bed.

'Tucna Mill levy setting deferred
Washtucna - A special mill levy slightly less than that adopted last year is foreseen by members of the Washtucna school board.
A tentative figure of $97,196 was reached at Tuesday's board meeting but did not include some repairs hoped for on the agriculture building, and some remodeling of lights.
The ag building repair, if done as a project by Future Farmers boys, would entail about $1,500 for materials. The light repair work is estimated to cost $2,000.
Last year's special mill levy was for $103,516, said Supt. Ben Johnson. An earlier special levy elected date in February has been re-set for March 17 a date the same as that to be used by the Lind and Ritzville school districts.
