RITZVILLE – The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague basketball teams were on the road at Upper Columbia Academy (Spangle) on Monday, Jan. 31.
The Bronco boys won handily over the (1-7, 1-6) Lions by a score of 68-47.
The girls also prevailed over the Lions (2-4, 1-4) more than doubling their score, 63-29. Individual statistics were not reported for either game.
On Feb. 1, the Broncos played the last home games of the season against the Liberty (Spangle) Lancers. The Liberty girls (14-1, 7-1) beat the local girls, 59-17.
Grace Fedie led the Broncos with 7 points while Amelia Court and Sydney Kinch each had 4.
Colette Nichols and Harlee Hennings had 2 apiece. Senior Dakota Killian, hobbled with an injured ankle, made a ceremonial start in her last home game, but did not play.
The Bronco boys played a much more competitive game, losing to the (14-2, 8-0) Lancers 83-82.
Liberty put the game away with two late free throws by Tayshawn Colvin.
Jayce Kelly led all scorers with 31 points, while Chase Galbreath added 17 and Hunter Dinkins had 15.
On Feb. 3, the Broncos were on the road to Reardan.
The boys lost, 52-48.
Jayce Kelly had 12 points for the Broncos, while Chase Galbreath added 9 and Brock Kinch had 8.
Logan Flaa led all scorers with 22 for Reardan who have a balanced record of 9-9 overall and 6-6 in league play.
The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague girls fared no better, losing to Reardan (11-6, 4-4) by a score of 54-36.
Sydney Kinch led all scorers with 18 points in the loss.
On Feb. 5, the Broncos were on the road again, this time to Davenport.
The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague boys came up short against the Gorillas (16-4, 9-3) losing by a score of 56-38.
Hunter Dinkins led the bronco scoring with12.
The Bronco girls beat Davenport 45-29. Sydney Kinch led all scorers with 19 in the winning performance.
The Bronco boys finish the regular season with 11 wins against 9 losses, with an even 6 and 6 record in league play. The girls finish with a record of 8 wins and 11 losses, also with an even record of 4 and 4 in league play.
