Broncos ball teams fall to Colfax
RITZVILLE – The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague Broncos boys and girls basketball teams took big wins Tuesday, Jan.25, over the Odessa Tigers.
The boys team doubled up the Tigers 76-38.
Jayce Kelly led all scorers with 16 points and Chase Galbreath added 13. Jacob Scrupps had 14 for Odessa. The tigers leave town with a 4-7 record overall and 2-3 in league play.
The girls also put up big numbers against the Tigers, winning by a score of 52-33.
Dakota Killian had 19 for the Bronco while Amalia Court added 15. Hayden Schuh had 13 for Odessa. The Tigers leave with an 9-2 record overall, unbeaten 6-0 in Class 1B league play.
Colfax wins
On Friday, Jan. 28 the Lind-Ritzville/Sprague Broncos hosted the Colfax Bulldogs at Gilson Gymnasium.
The boys lost to Colfax by a score of 76-61.
Chase Galbreath had 23 points and Jayce Kelly added 15, but it wasn’t enough to outscore the Bulldogs.
John Lustig had 31 pints and Damian Demler had 19 for Colfax.
The Bulldog boys left with a record of 12-3 overall, 5-1 in league play.
The night didn’t go any better for the local girls, losing to Colfax 59-35.
Harlee Hennings led the Broncos with 8 points, Zoe Galbreath added 7 and Dakota Killian and Grace Fedie each had 6 in the loss.
Asher Cai scored 24 points and Brynn McGaughy added 18 for the Bulldogs. The Colfax girls leave town with a record of 12-1 overall, 5-0 in league play.
Win over Asotin
On Saturday, Jan. 29, the Broncos traveled to Asotin.
The boys notched a 65-50 win over the Panthers.
Chase Galbreath led the Broncos with 17 points while Hunter Dinkins had 15 and Jayce Kelly added 11.
The Panther’s Preston Overberg led all scorers with 20. Asotin has a record of 6-7 overall, 2-5 in league play.
The Bronco girls also beat the Panthers by a score of 54-39. No individual statistics were reported for the girls game. The Asotin girls are 3-6 overall, 1-2 in league play.
The Bronco boys begin the final week of the regular season with a record of 10-5 overall, 5-2 in the Northeast 2B. The girls are 6-9 overall, 2-2 in league.
Looking ahead the Broncos are on the road to Reardan on Thursday, Feb. 3, then at Davenport on Saturday, Feb. 5.
