RENTON - The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague Broncos boys football team has been selected Washington Interscholastic Activities Association 2B Team of the Month for October.
Meanwhile, the No. 4-ranked Broncos will face No. 5-ranked Onalaska in a state playoff this week. The game time, day and location had yet to be determined at press time.
The team, which had a bye last week, was selected as a team on the month for players’ performances, dedication in the classroom and service to the community.
“After being picked preseason to finish sixth in their league, Lind-Ritzville/Sprague went 5-0 during the month of October to cap an undefeated season (8-0) and win the Northeast 2B League championship,” the WIAA said. “In the five games, the Broncos outscored their opponents 195-55. Besides their on-the-field play, the team is active helping with community projects. Great work Broncos.”
Each winner receives a trophy and $100 donated to their team.
