Cle Elum man killed in crash

RITZVILLE – A Cle Elum man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 90 about 11 miles west of the city on Friday, Nov. 5.

Laurence W. Roxby, 65, of Cle Elum, was pronounced dead at the scene about 1:12 p.m., the Washington State Patrol reported.

Roxby was eastbound near Milepost 210 when the vehicle he was driving left the roadway and entered the center median and overturned, the patrol said.

The vehicle came to rest on a side road underneath the freeway, the patrol said.

Roxby was the only occupant of the vehicle, and was wearing a seatbelt, the patrol said.

Troopers have yet to determine if alcohol or drugs was a factor in the crash.
