School playground gets upgraded

RITZVILLE – Ritzville Grade School, 401 E. Sixth Ave., hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for upgraded playground equipment last week.

The upgrades were made possible by donations from Clearway Energy and the Big Bend Electric Caring Neighbors program.

Clearway Energy Group operates the wind farm at Rattlesnake Flats, 20 miles south of the city.

Caring Neighbors is a non-profit entity established by Big Bend Electric Co-op. The five member volunteer board reviews applications and determines award amounts quarterly.
