Livestock sale brings in more than $100K

RITZVILLE – The annual Wheat Land Communities' Fair livestock sale brought in more than $100,000.

"The livestock sale surpassed the $100,000 mark this year, ending at $100,779 plus add-on support," fair volunteer Lori Williams said. "Something we haven't done since 2015.

Here is a list of the aspiring producer, their livestock and the purchaser:

• Danika Cox of Lind-Ritzville FFA -- Reserve champion hog, purchased by Sen. Schoesler, and Reps. Joe Schmick and Mary Dye.

• Zackary Crouse of Washtucna FFA – Grand champion hog, purchased by Bronco Farm Supply.

• Emma Dennis of Dennis Family 4H – Grand champion goat, purchased by John Preston; reserve champion goat, purchased by STCU.

• Brenik Esser of Ritzville Livestock 4H – Reserve champion hog, purchased by John and

Ann Anderson.

• Alexis Melcher of Lind-Ritzville FFA – Grand champion goat, purchased by Wilbur-Ellis of Colfax; reserve champion goat, purchased by GEM Air.

• McKenzie Pfeifer of Ritzville Livestock 4H – Grand champion lamb, purchased by STCU; and reserve champion lamb, purchased by K3 Farms.

• Lane Tellefson of Lind-Ritzville FFA – Reserve champion Steer, purchased by Booker Auction Co.

• Hannah Towne of Ritzville Livestock 4H – Reserve champion steer, purchased by Bronco Farm Supply.

• Alyssa Williams of the Lind-Ritzville FFA – Grand champion steer, purchased by Marcia

Williams; and grand champion lamb, purchased by GEM Air.

• Landon Williams of Ritzville Livestock 4H – Grand champion steer, purchased by Bronco Farm Supply; grand champion hog, purchased by Wheatland Waste; and grand champion hog, purchased by Wheatland Waste.
