Amanda Sophia Niederkleine entered her rest after 97 years of life on July 18, 2021. Amanda was born Sept. 29, 1923 to August and Engel Sielaff of Ritzville, Wash.
Amanda was the second youngest of 6 children. She was baptized, confirmed at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Ritzville, Wash. where she was a life-long member. She graduated from Ritzville High School in 1941. In 1944, she married Milton Niederkleine and moved to a farm at Paha, Wash. where they raised two children, Connie and Gene.
Amanda sang in the church choir and was organist for 21 years. She enjoyed crafts, quilting, fishing, bowling, golfing, and traveling. She was an avid fan of the Seattle Mariners, and the Gonzaga basketball teams. She enjoyed many visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren while living in Post Falls, Idaho during the last years of her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband Milton, daughter Connie, grandson Jay, four brothers Harold, Lester, Dale, Walter, one sister, Lilian Meske, and her parents. She is survived by her son, Gene (Julie) Niederkleine of Post Falls, ID., two granddaughters, Ginny (Brent) Hayton, of Post Falls, ID, Jessica (Jeremy) Hampsch of Rathdrum, ID, and 7 great-grandchildren—David, Rachel, and Sarah Hayton, and Jamie, Abigail, Lily, and Joel Hampsch. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Many thanks to the staff and personnel at The Bridge Assisted Living in Post Falls, Bristol Heights Assisted Living in Coeur d’ Alene, and Hospice of North Idaho for their loving care of Amanda the last three years.
End of life services were provided by Belltower Funeral Home and Crematory of Post Falls, Idaho. Amanda will be buried at the Ritzville Lutheran Cemetery during a private ceremony at a later date.
