Eastern Adams County's Only Independent Voice Since 1887

Marlin, Wold separated by 4 votes in Lind Town Council No. 2 race

Dew has commanding lead in District No. 3 race

LIND — With only four votes separating the top two candidates in the race for Town Council seat No. 2, the primary election is too close to call.

Sheri Marlin had 47 votes, while Mike J. Wold had 43 at the end of the first count of ballots in Adams County tonight, Aug. 3.

The two have out-distanced the third-place candidate Kathy Vedder, who has only 13 votes, or 12.62%.

The Top 2 candidates advance to the Nov. 2 general election.

The race isn't as close in the race for the No. 3 Town Council seat.

Laura Dew received 67 votes, or 67%, at the end of the first day of counting. Richard Baldwin has 21 votes and Whisper Casaday 11, or 21% and 11% respectively.

Late-arriving ballots will be counted during the remaining certification window, officials said.

As of the end of counting Monday, 1,531 ballots had been tallied; the county has 7,552 registered voters.
