RITZVILLE – The National Weather Service is predicting temperatures over 100 degrees this weekend, June 26-27. They are predicting sunny and hot with a high near 104 Saturday, with skies remaining mostly clear and the temperature dropping to a low around 69 Saturday night.
Sunday is also predicted to be sunny and hot, with a high near 105 degrees.
City accepts Standpipe
RITZVILLE – Although the contractor will return for a few minor finishes, the City Council unanimously accepted the Standpipe Reservoir Recoating Project as complete during its June 16 meeting.
The council approved a resolution finalizing the $257,943 project.
Acceptance allows the city to pay Industrial Coatings Unlimited, the 5% retainer.
Freedom Rodeo returns
BASIN CITY – The second Freedom Rodeo returns to the arena Friday and Saturday, June 25 and 26, with two adult performances and a youth competition.
Friday's rodeo performance is set for 6:30 p.m.
The action continues Saturday with a vendor market opening at noon and the Kid's Rodeo running from 1:30-5:30 p.m.
The second adult rodeo performance gets started with grand entry at 6:30 p.m.
