Teachers celebrated in Washtucna

WASHTUCNA – Teachers were honored every day last week for Teachers Appreciation Week, Principal Michael Amend reported.

On Monday, teachers arrived at their buildings via a red carpet walk, with the theme "Our teachers are stars."

Tuesday celebrated May the Fourth with "Our teachers are Jedi masters."

Wednesday celebrated Cinco de Mayo with a learning fiesta.

Thursday's theme was "Our teachers help learning bloom."

Friday, teachers were treated to a picnic after kids got on the bus, with the theme "Learning is a picnic with our teachers."

Teachers received "survival kits" and flowers from the Washtucna Community Church, cookies made by Tabitha Harder were served, and Starbucks in Ritzville provided free coffee Monday morning.

"We had lots of great community support," Amend said.
