RITZVILLE - The Broncos hosted four visiting teams for a NE2B track and field meet on a cold and rainy Saturday, April 24.
The Lind-Ritzville-Sprague team had several first-place finishers.
Davenport took first place for both the boys' and girls' teams.
In boys' varsity, Davenport scored 154, followed by Chewelah (129), St. George's (105), NW Christian (Colbert) (67) and Lind-Ritzville-Sprague (61).
For girls' varsity, Davenport scored 120, followed by St. George's (118), Chewelah (98), Lind-Ritzville-Sprague (75) and NW Christian (51).
In the boys' 100 meters, Bronco sophomore Hayden Melcher had the lead until the last second, with St. George's senior Kyley Doughty taking first at 11.90 and Melcher finishing in 11.91. Freshman Brock Kinch took seventh at 12.96.
Doughty also took first in the 200 meters at 24.21, followed by Bronco Douglas Morris in second at 25.63. Kinch took fifth at 26.31, followed by teammate and fellow freshman Shawn Steinberger at 26.46.
A team of Morris, Steinberger, Kinch and Melcher took first in the 4x100 Relay, at 47.92. Davenport took second at 49.10.
In Javelin, Bronco senior Sam Michels finished eighth in a field of 22, at 102-00. A Davenport junior took first at 145-03.
Melcher took first in long jump at 17-09.50, followed by Chewelah senior Justyce Acosta at 17-02.25. Kinch took third at 16-03.25.
For the girls, senior Janaye Wilkie took first in long jump at 16-05.50, followed by teammate Sydney Kinch, a junior, at 15-00.25.
Wilkie also took first in high jump at 4-08.00, four inches higher than second-place finisher Sabrina Sharp, a junior from Chewelah.
Kinch also took first place in pole vault, at 8-06.00, six inches higher than Northwest Christian senior Taylor Swanson.
In discus, sophomore Myra Miller took first at 107-10, leaving the competition far behind. Davenport sophomore Lena Waters took second at 86-08.
In javelin, Lind-Ritzville-Sprague junior Alana Billingmeir took fourth at 71-03. Davenport freshman Jensyn Jacobsen took first at 90-01.
Miller took third in shot put at 30-10.25, with Davenport's Waters in first at 31-10.75. Bronco senior Brynne Nelson took fifth at 28-02.50.
In 100 meter hurdles, Bronco senior Kylee Longie had a personal best of 19.82, for a fourth place finish. Davenport freshman Darby Soliday took first at 17.06.
In the 100 meters, Kinch took fourth at 14.39. St. George's Fair Niven, also a junior, took first at 12.98, followed by teammate, senior Reagan Ivey at 13.63. Chewelah sophomore Maykayla Thomason took third at 13.84.
