April 16

Deputies observed an unsecured premise near the 200 block of West Schrag Road. Deputies contacted the property owners and they advised they would send someone out to verify if anything was missing.

Deputies were dispatched to the 1100 block of South Schaake Road in Othello for a request to document abandoned vehicles. Deputies noted numerous vehicles which appeared to meet the state standard and generated documents as required.

Deputies responded to a fire at the 2100 block of West Cunningham Road. A vehicle was fully engulfed in flames and a second vehicle also caught fire. A subject was determined to have caused the fire. Deputies later contacted the subject who confirmed information about the fire. Incident forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for a charging determination.

Complainant advised locating a debit/credit card at the 2000 block of North Durry Road in Ritzville. Deputies attempted contact with the owner of the card.

Deputies were dispatched to a custodial interference call at the 600 block of South Canal Road in Othello. Parents were advised to contact the courts for custody issues.

Deputies were conducting traffic emphasis patrols on East Main Street in Othello. A vehicle was observed attempting to street race another vehicle. A juvenile was arrested for reckless driving, attempted street racing. The juvenile was also issued traffic infractions for equipment violations.

Deputies observed two vehicles racing near the 700 block of East Main Street in Othello. Both drivers were arrested for traffic-related charges. Juan L. Garcia, 23, and 18-year-old Omar Negrete-Galvan were booked into jail for suspicion of racing on a public highway.

Deputies were dispatched to a shots-fired call in the area of South Taylor Road and West Cunningham Road in Othello.

Deputies were dispatched to the 700 block of South Ridgeview Loop in Othello for a report of unknown subjects repeatedly driving by the complainant’s residence.

Complainant advised of a possible DUI originally traveling on South Highway 17. The vehicle turned onto West Foley Road, then turned onto South Reynolds and traveled into Othello Police Department’s jurisdiction.

April 17

Complainant reported a vehicle in the area of East Tokio Road and North Snyder Road that swerved off the road, then came back onto the road. The vehicle was last seen driving towards Ritzville. Complainant believed the driver was possibly impaired.

Deputies assisted WSP with an injury rollover collision in the 300 block of South Highway 21 near milepost 18 in Lind. Deputies contacted the subjects at the East Adams Rural Hospital and stood by until the state patrol arrived.

Deputies were dispatched to the 1300 block of North Deal Road in Ritzville for a report of a white newer Ford or Chevy crew cab and a black or gray Ford pickup driving around the property at about 0130 hours or later.

Deputies were dispatched to the 2000 block of North Durry Road in Ritzville for a 911 hang-up call. When dispatch called back, a subject stated an angry customer had left and no further assistance was needed.

Deputies were dispatched to a welfare check call on the 300 block of South Highway 17 near West Foley Road in Othello. Deputies searched the area for a female that was jumping in and out of traffic. Information was forwarded to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office and WSP in case the female was north of Adams County.

Complainant in the 1000 block of West Schrag Road in Ritzville advised her mail had been located by a neighbor. The complainant’s mail has been opened but nothing was taken. Complainant was concerned about possible identity theft occurring. Investigation is ongoing.

Complainant advised of a subject possibly attempting to illegally dump what appeared to be lawn clippings in garbage bags on West McManamon Road in Othello at the canal crossing. Complainant advised having pictures of the subject.

Deputies overheard Othello PD advise of an assault at the 1400 block of East Main Street in Othello. Deputies assisted by checking the area for a possible suspect said to have fled the scene.

Deputies responded to multiple anonymous reports of a male with a firearm, possibly threatening people or waving the firearm around, at the 800 block of South Highway 24 in Othello. Deputies contacted a subject in a vehicle with a firearm nearby out of the subject’s possession. It was determined no crime occurred and no subjects came forward with other information.

Deputies were dispatched to the 2100 block of West June Street in Othello for a complaint of loud music.

April 18

Complainant advised of loud music in the 600 block of South Wagon Road in Othello. Deputies determined the music was coming from the 600 block of South Taylor Road. Subject agreed to turn off the music for the night.

Deputies were dispatched to the 1200 block of West 1st Avenue in Ritzville for a reported possible burglary in progress. Ritzville Police contacted the subject and learned he had permission to be at the location.

Deputies overheard a neighboring jurisdiction advise they were involved in a traffic collision in the 1300 block of North Pine Street in Othello. Deputies handled the traffic collision investigation which was determined to be caused by a driver failing to stop at a stop sign and colliding with the police vehicle. The at-fault driver, 31-year-old Joshua A. Reyes of Moses Lake was arrested by citation for suspicion of driving while license suspended 3rd degree.

Deputies were advised of a collision involving multiple vehicles on I-90 near milepost 201 in Ritzville. Deputies assisted with traffic control on scene.

April 19

Deputies were dispatched to the 2100 block of North Hills Road in Ritzville for a reported unattended death. Deputies investigated the scene. The body was removed to Danekas Funeral Home.

Deputies were dispatched to the 600 block of East Schrag Road in Ritzville for a reported subject walking in the area holding his arm.

Deputies were dispatched to the 700 block of South Thacker Road in Othello for a reported single-vehicle rollover collision. The driver was transported to a local medical center for treatment and the vehicle was impounded for safekeeping.

Complainant advised of a cold burglary at the 2400 block of East 2nd Street in Lind. Complainant identified two storage units with damage and believed they were possibly broken into.

Deputies responded to the 800 block of South Highway 24 in Othello to a reported verbal argument between two juveniles. Deputies located both subjects and determined to be adults. Witnesses advised they saw a fight between them. The report will be forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for review.

Complainant advised of a suspicious vehicle at the 2400 block of West Bench Road in Othello. Complainant attempted to contact subjects in the vehicle and the driver left the location. Complainant followed the vehicle to an orchard nearby.

Complainant advised of a boat being stolen from the 100 block of West 6th Street in Lind. The boat had been re-purposed as a flower bed and complainant recently decided to have it scrapped or taken to a transfer station.

Complainant reported seeing a bright orange light by Morgan Lake Road in Othello and possibly being a fire. Deputies responded and found the bright orange light to be coming from greenhouses from a farm.

April 20

Complainant agency requested assistance with the execution of a search warrant at the 600 block of South Andes Road in Othello. Deputies assisted by being perimeter security while the search warrant was executed.

Deputies were dispatched to the 2400 block of West McManamon Road in Othello for a reported one-car roll over. The vehicle was found to be unoccupied by the complainant. Deputies responded to the area finding the driver had retuned and was not injured.

Deputies were dispatched to the 2800 block of West Bench View Lane in Othello for a reported interrupted burglary. Deputies responded to the area and made contact with complainant. Deputies checked the area finding no signs of forced entry or shoe prints other than the complainants.

Deputies were dispatched to a cold burglary at the 500 block of East Lee Road in Lind. Deputies contacted the party responsible for the property and they determined items were taken. Investigation is ongoing.

Deputies were dispatched to the 1900 block of West Hatton Road in Othello for a reported theft of GPS equipment from a tractor.

Deputies responded to the 1900 block of East Rehn Road in Ritzville for a request for a lift assist. Deputies helped lift the subject into the ambulance.

Deputies responded to East Weber Road in Ritzville for a welfare check.

Complainant reported an ongoing issue of a red vehicle speeding at the 600 block of South Kristina Road.

Complainant advised of a subject wearing a headlight attempting to open vehicles in 2100 block of West May Street in Othello.

Deputies observed a vehicle speeding at the 600 block of South Taylor Road in Othello. Deputies found the driver, 46-year-old Jeffrey E. Romeo, to have a suspended license. Romeo was released pending a criminal citation via mail correspondence.

April 21

While deputies were conducting follow-up at the 1000 block of West Schrag Road in Ritzville, deputies observed multiple open doors to building on the property. Deputies searched the property and did not locate anyone. Deputies contacted the owner of the property and determined items were missing. Investigation is ongoing.

Deputies were dispatched to an abandoned vehicle call on the 2100 block of West Bench Road in Othello.

Deputies were dispatched to the 2600 block of West McManamon Road in Othello for a reported hit and run collision with damage to county owned property. Deputies responded and determined a collision had occurred with evidence left on scene. Deputies contacted the registered owner and advised the vehicle had been sold months earlier. Investigation is ongoing.

Lost/found property located at East Wahluke Stop in Othello on top of a gas pump. Deputies contacted gas card company who advised to destroy the card.

Complainant advised of a civil matter regarding custody of a child at the 800 block of South Meadowlark Lane in Othello.

Deputies were dispatched to the Othello substation for a report of a cold hit and run collision which occurred in the 600 block of South Kristina Road in Othello. Complainant had a family member attempt to repair vehicle collision damage which had occurred four months earlier.

Deputies were dispatched to a suspicious call on the 700 block of South McKinney Road. Deputies contacted a subject who advised of being in the area after an argument with brother. Subject advised he would leave the area.

Deputies were dispatched to a malicious mischief on the 600 block of South Canal Road in Othello. Deputies observed a broken small window.

Deputies responded to an activation for the Moses Lake Tactical Response Team. A suspect in the Soap Lake area barricaded himself after brandishing a knife. After a standoff, the suspect exited the house and was taken into custody.

April 22

Deputies were dispatched to the 600 block of South Saddle Road in reference to junk vehicle affidavits. Deputies documented the vehicles and provided the complainant appropriate forms.

Deputies were dispatched to the 1000 block of East 2nd Street in Lind for an abandoned vehicle call.

Deputies were dispatched to the 1900 block of West Bench Road in Othello for a reported possible DUI driver.
