Pastime reopens on Saint Patrick's Day

RITZVILLE – The Pastime officially reopened Wednesday, Mar. 17, after closing in mid-November due to Coronvirus restrictions.

Owners Dave Benedict and Aimee Guiles held a soft reopening the previous day, to work out any kinks and remember the many details needed to be in place to successfully run a busy bar.

And busy it was.

"We had people streaming in," Benedict said. "I didn't even turn on the Pastime sign until 9 p.m."

"I'm thankful to have our bar open again, and get the opportunity to work hard," Guiles said. "I don't think these old buildings like to sit empty."
