FIRE AT OTT HOME
Last Friday about noon a fire alarm from the Andrew Ott home on the north edge of town sent the fire engine speeding in that direction. By use of the chemical the fire was put out. It was thought the fire started from a wire coming in contact with a water pipe. The damage was to the interior and was not heavy. Mr. Ott will wonder if fire has him "hoo-dooed," for he sustained heavy loss in the fire in his downtown brick block some weeks ago.

Plan Solution For
House Shortage

Veterans will have first opportunity to purchase the homes, but if they are not sold within 30 days they may then be sold to other home-seekers, one of the incorporators said.

W.W. Miller Praises
Legion Loyalty

The former American Legion post commander spoke Thursday in high praise of veterans through all the years, in an address at the 52nd birthday of the American Legion. Miller asked if America is starting to lose its "guts," and answered that it would appear in some instances they are. Many people, he noted, call on Congress to give them a handout, but not the American Legion.
