Grainland Acres Annexation plans moving forward

RITZVILLE – A public hearing for the Grainland Acres Annexation, Comprehensive Plan and Zone Amendment held at city council's Feb. 16 meeting had one participant from the public.

Mark DeWulf, attorney general counsel for Big Bend Electric, said Big Bend Electric does not want to be annexed into the city, but wants to operate as they are doing now under the current zoning. DeWulf said he spoke with the city's attorney, Mike Connelly, who assured him Big Bend Electric is not part of the annexation.
