Chamber looks forward to St. Patrick's Day

RITZVILLE – The Chamber of Commerce is planning events around St. Patrick's Day including an open house night for businesses and a scavenger hunt.

"Our hope is the hunt will end with coupons to local businesses, and our Board members are working on that project now," Chamber Secretary Phyllis Wormsbecker said. "Our promotions committee consists of Nichole Thiel and Becky Main, and they will coordinate with Katelin Davidson of KD Consulting to complete promotion for the event."

The Chamber is updating their Tourism Guide and will be contacting businesses for any new information. Chamber members passed a motion to contract with KD Consulting to design and publish the guide. They hope to have it ready in two months. Wormsbecker said after producing their first Tourism Guide for the city in 2019, they are hoping to produce an annual guide in the future.

The Chamber reported receiving 23 memberships so far, and Treasurer Becky Main is looking into having membership payments submitted online.

Looking ahead to spring and summer events, Wormsbecker reported Karen Cady is hoping to host a Fiber Fest at the fairgrounds May 1, the car club will not be holding it's annual show, they aren't sure about Art in the Park and the Firemen's Breakfast and Memorial Ceremony are scheduled to take place on Memorial Day.

The next board meeting is scheduled for March 15.
