January 8

Traffic Offense – East I-90 near milepost 225 Ritzville

Deputies contacted a vehicle with an equipment violation and determined the driver had a suspended license. Patricia L. Aswell, 54, of Moses Lake was arrested, cited, and released.

Citizen Assist – 2600 block West Bench Road Othello

Complainant requested assistance in enforcing a court-ordered parenting plan. An agreement was made and both parties were satisfied with the agreed upon resolution.

Animal Problem – 1600 block West Muse Road Othello

Report of a possible horse neglect at the location. Deputies determined the horses were not being neglected and were healthy. They had food and water.

Assault – 2200 block West Rainier Road Othello

Report of a possible assault at the location. The victim did not want to press charges and would not give a statement. Deputies attempted contact with the suspect with negative results.

Welfare Check – 300 block West 2nd Street Lind

Complainant was concerned because her caregiver had not arrived. The caregiver was contacted by phone and she advised that she was at another client’s residence.

Traffic Accident – West Lee Road and South Reynolds Road Othello

Deputies arrived at a traffic accident near the location and observed it was in Othello Police Department’s jurisdiction, who took over the investigation.

Suspicious – West Sutton Road and South Reynolds Road Othello

Deputies observed a suspicious vehicle while patrolling the location. Contact was made with the subjects who agreed to leave the area.

January 9

Malicious Mischief – South Highway 24 and West Hatton Road Othello

An incident of fresh graffiti was documented at the location and forwarded to juvenile services for community service hours.

Traffic Accident – West Bench Road and South Broadway Avenue Othello

A two vehicle non-injury collision at the location was determined to be non-reportable. Deputies assisted the drivers in exchanging information before clearing.

Weapon Offense – West Parks Lane and South Taylor Road Othello

Anonymous complainant of possible gunshots heard at the location. Deputies were unable to locate anyone shooting in the area.

Suspicious – 1700 block North Bauman Road Ritzville

Complainant reported a small passenger vehicle without a rear license plate stopping near his residence multiple times during the preceding weeks, including this call for service. Deputies checked the area and did not locate any standing passenger vehicles.

January 10

Juvenile Problem – 2000 block West Bench Road Othello

Deputies contacted a vehicle on at the location with a juvenile who did not have permission to be out of their residence. Deputies transported them home and contacted a parent.

Traffic Offense – North 14th Avenue and East Fir Street Othello

Cody J. Alvarez, 23, of Othello was arrested and cited for driving with a suspended license at the location, and released.

DUI – 600 block South Kristina Road Othello

Deputies were dispatched to a juvenile problem call at the location. A subject was arrested for DUI and minor in possession. A juvenile was arrested for minor in possession as well. Isabella M. Gallo, 18, of Connell was booked into jail for the driving related offense.

Alarm – 400 block East Yeisley Road Lind

False alarm.

Disorderly – 2000 block West Bench Road Othello

Report of a disorderly subject at the location, whom deputies determined to be suffering a mental health crisis. The subject was transported to Othello Community Hospital where a mental health professional could render aid.

January 11

Disorderly 2000 block West Bench Road Othello

Report of disorderly conduct at the location where an unknown subject was yelling at complainant’s sister’s wife. Deputies were advised it was a verbal argument between adult siblings, which they determined to be in reference to a medical condition and pain management issues.

Suspicious – East Snowden Road and North Seivers Road Ritzville

Report of a vehicle on the roadway which appeared to be unoccupied. Location and surrounding area were checked but the vehicle was not located.

Disorderly – 2000 block West Bench Road Othello

Dispatch advised of a reported domestic at the location. Deputies contacted a subject who was attempting contact with a parent but due to mental health state, the parent did not want contact. The subject went home and made suicidal statements and was then transported to the hospital so a mental health professional could assist.

Abandoned Vehicle – 1100 block South Bauman Street Ritzville

Complainant requested information on an abandoned boat trailer at the location, which he wanted to have put under his name. Complainant was advised to contact the Department of Licensing.

Civil Matter – 600 block South Taylor Road Othello

Report of a citizen dispute over a vehicle at the location. Deputies advised the complainant to contact the courts in reference to the civil issue of the vehicle’s ownership.

Suspicious – N Johnson Rd & W Lind-Warden Rd Lind

Report of a suspicious van in the area, which the complainant followed. Then the van began following the complainant.

Suicide Attempt – 2000 block West Bench Road Othello

Deputies were dispatched to a suicidal subject at the location. Deputies contacted the subject, who was then voluntary transported to Kadlec Hospital by a family member.

Citizen Assist – 300 block East 3rd Street Lind

Complainant advised she was concerned for her children living Centralia, WA. The complainant was advised to contact Centralia Police to investigate the matter.

January 12

DUI – West Lee Road and South Reynolds Road Othello

Report of an unattended collision at the location. Deputies made contact with a female witness. After investigation, probable cause for the arrest of 41-year-old Juan C. Capetillo of Othello was found. Capetillo was located, taken into custody, and booked into the Adams County Jail for suspicion of hit & run collision and DUI.

Runaway Juvenile – 2200 BLK W SR 26 Othello

Dispatch advised of a reported missing person at the location. Deputies contacted the complainant and were advised of a juvenile male that had run away from home approximately 3 days prior. The juvenile was entered into the national database as a runaway. The juvenile was later located and taken out of the database as a runaway.

Agency Assist – 2100 BLK W July St Othello

The Richland Police Department requested assistance in attempting to locate a suspect vehicle from a theft they were investigating. The vehicle was located and information was provided to the complainant agency.

Suspicious – 600 BLK S Wagon Rd Othello

Dispatch advised of a report of a subject that was near the location and fled in an unknown direction of travel. Deputies checked the area and did not locate anyone.

Burglary – 1000 BLK S Sundance Rd Othello

Dispatch advised of a report of a cold burglary at the location. Deputies arrived on scene and were advised of items taken from an unlocked garage. Investigation is ongoing.

Welfare Check – 200 BLK E 6th St Lind

Complainant requested a welfare check at the location for a juvenile who had not been attending school classes and said to be left alone by the parent. Deputies contacted the parent and juvenile who advised all was fine. Residence was fairly clean and there was adequate food in the kitchen area. Deputies did not observe anything to indicate juvenile was not being cared for.

Threatening – 200 BLK N “A” St Washtucna

Complainant advised of ongoing issues with a female subject from another county due to parenting/custodial situation. Complainant received threatening messages from the subject and wished the incident be documented. Complainant was unable to provide identifying information for the subject and advised he did not feel threatened.

Welfare Check – N St Clair Ave Lind

Washington State Adult Protective Services requested a welfare check on a subject due to unsanitary living conditions and an argument being heard at the location. Deputies contacted the subject who advised an argument occurred but no physical assault took place. Deputies observed the living conditions were an issue and a report was forwarded to the complainant agency.

Traffic Accident – N Fox Rd & W Roloff Rd Lind

Deputies were dispatched to the location for a single vehicle collision. Deputies determined a vehicle drove off the roadway due to another driver not using his turn signal.

Animal Problem – N Deal Rd Ritzville

Complainant advised of cattle in the roadway. There were no additional reports of cattle in the area.

January 13

Suspicious – 1300 BLK N Anderson Rd Ritzville

Complainant advised of a suspicious vehicle parked on the county road, a short distance from their house. The vehicle did not have a license plate. The complainant’s husband saw the passenger of the vehicle was asleep. Deputies contacted the driver. The driver advised he was returning to Idaho and stopped on the county road to sleep. The driver left the area and continued on his way.

Hazardous Condition – S SR 17 near MP 33 Othello

Deputies were dispatched to the location for a hazardous condition call. Complainant advised of a possible power line down. Deputies searched the area and did not locate any power lines down.

Animal Problem – N Wahl Rd & S Van Marter Ave Lind

Complainant advised of a cow out near the location. No other reports were made similar in nature. Deputies contacted the responsible who advised he would make sure his cattle were in an enclosed area.

Suspicious – 1500 BLK W 1st Ave Ritzville

Complainant advised of a suspicious vehicle at the location. The subject in the vehicle had been at the location earlier in the day. The vehicle had left the location approximately 30 minutes before the complainant contacted dispatch. Deputies were unable to locate the vehicle.

Vehicle Theft – 600 BLK S Andes Rd Othello

Complainant contacted dispatch to report her vehicle as stolen. Deputies contacted the complainant and determined the vehicle could be reported as stolen. The vehicle was listed in the state/national databases as an active stolen vehicle. Investigation is ongoing.

January 14

Agency Assist – W SR 26 near MP 21 Othello

Complainant agency requested law enforcement assistance with locating a driver in distress at the location. Deputies responded to the area locating a subject in distress. The subject was transported to a local medical center for stabilization.

Suspicious – 100 BLK E 3rd St Lind

Complainant advised a subject was knocking on the door of her residence at the location. While deputies were en route, the complainant advised the subject had left the area. Deputies were unable to obtain a description of the subject. Deputies searched the area and were unable to locate any persons of interest.

Juvenile Problem – E 2nd St & N “I” St Lind

Deputies were patrolling the area observed two juveniles. Due to below freezing temperatures, apparent age of the juveniles, and time of night, deputies contacted the juveniles. Deputies determined the juveniles did not have permission from their guardian to be outside. Deputies provided the juveniles a courtesy ride back to their residence.

Lost/Found Property – W SR 26 & S Lind-Hatton Rd Othello

Complainant brought to the sheriff’s office a lost/found wallet from the location. There were documents in the wallet identifying the owner. The wallet will be mailed to the owner.

Animal Problem – W Kuhn Rd Othello

Complainant advised of three black cows out heading towards the orchards. Complainant didn’t know who the cows belonged to. Deputies contacted the responsible who advised they would take care of the cows.

Citizen Assist – W Cunningham Rd Othello

Complainant contacted dispatch to report striking a deer while on a county road. Deputies contacted the complainant and determined she left the scene without contacting law enforcement. The complaint advised she contacted her insurance agent to file a claim. Deputies directed the complainant to complete an online collision report with WSP.

Citizen Assist – 2000 BLK E SR 26 Washtucna

Complainant advised her grandson would not behave and listen to her. She also believed her grandson may have some stolen property in his possession. Deputies arrived on scene and provided assistance. Deputies were unable to determine if the items were stolen. Items were entered as found property. No owner has been determined at this time.
