Unresponsive subject with a head injury at the location. Deputies arrived and assisted EMS. The subject was transported to East Adams Rural Hospital due to injuries.
Disorderly - 2100 block West Peter Lane Othello
Complainant requested law enforcement assistance for a male subject reportedly out of control and physically assaultive. Deputies found an intoxicated male being disorderly. Joshua P. Castro, 26, of Othello was arrested and later booked into jail for Assault 3rd Degree and Disorderly Conduct.
Agency Assist - South Highway 395 near milepost 76 Ritzville
Report of a vehicle off the roadway near the location, reportedly occupied by a subject slumped over the wheel. Deputies responded, finding a male subject slumped over the wheel with the vehicle’s engine on. The male subject was later taken into custody by WSP for DUI.
Assault - West Highway 26 and West Moon Road Othello
Report of a vehicle chasing a male subject and a possible assault that occurred near the location. Deputies contacted a male and female in the area. The couple had been in an argument and the male party got out of the vehicle to cool off. The female followed the male asking him to get back in the vehicle. No assault occurred and they were both comfortable leaving together.

Deputies observed graffiti at the location. The vandalism was documented and the location recommended for community service hours clean up through the juvenile department.

Agency Assist - East I-90 near milepost 232 Ritzville
WSP requested deputies check for a non-described vehicle traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes at the location. Deputies were unable to locate any vehicles traveling the wrong way.
Welfare Check - 300 block East 3rd Street Lind
Complainant requested a welfare check on the children at the location. The house was clean and heated, and the children advised they had adequate food, shelter and clothing.
Civil Matter - 100 block North Main Street Washtucna
Complainant who called with questions relating to a squatter living in a building he owns was advised to review the landlord tenant laws on evictions and contact the courts if he wanted to seek restitution.
Burglary - 2200 block West Shelly Road Othello
Report of a burglary at the location. Several items were taken, including a firearm. The investigation is ongoing.
Citizen Assist - 400 block North Highway 261 Ritzville
Complainant advised her child was having behavior issues and requested a deputy to speak with them. Deputies spoke with the all parties, and determined no criminal activity had occurred.
Traffic Offense - South Highway 395 and West Highway 26 Othello
Deputies conducted a traffic stop at the location. The driver was found to be driving while suspended in the third degree. Wayne W. Walton, 43, of Spokane, WA was arrested, cited, and released on scene.
January 3
Citizen Assist - 2200 block West Shelly Road Othello
Complainant requested assistance locating significant other who left the residence intoxicated. Deputies searched the area and were not able to locate the subject.
Traffic Offense - 1900 block West Bench Road Othello
While on patrol, deputies conducted a traffic stop at the location. The driver was found to be operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. Eliseo Antonio Jr., 31, was arrested, cited, and released from the scene.
Missing Person - 300 block East 3rd Street Lind
Complainant was concerned for her daughter’s welfare. The complainant advised she received a text message that said “goodbye,” and was unable to reach her daughter by phone. Deputies checked the residence and the subject and vehicle were not there. The complainant later called back advising she spoke with her daughter, who said she was fine and did not want contact.
Traffic Hazard - West Bench Road and South McKinney Road Othello
Report of a cow in the roadway at the location.
Suspicious - 2000 block West Bench Road Othello
Complainant advised of a group of juveniles near the entrance to the trailer court. There has been a lot of tagging in the area and they were standing by a fence when she drove by them. When they saw her, they ran away from the location. Deputies attempted contact with the group of juveniles. They refused to talk and began shouting gang affiliations and making signs with their hands. None of them were identified, due to having face coverings. No tagging was observed.
DUI - 600 block South Wagon Road Othello
Deputies conducted a traffic stop at the location. The driver fled the vehicle and deputies initiated a foot pursuit. Hugo, 19, Matias-Gregorio was arrested and booked into jail for DUI and Fail to Obey a Law Enforcement Officer.
Malicious Mischief - 600 block South Drury Lane Othello
While on patrol, deputies located blue-colored markings on fencing bordering private property.
January 4
Animal Problem - South Benge-Washtucna Road Benge
Report of cattle near the railroad tracks. Deputies attempted contact with the responsible and left a voicemail requesting their cattle were in an enclosed area.
Harassment - 2100 block West April Street Othello
Report of a third-party complaint of harassment at the location. Deputies contacted the complainant who advised of a neighbor, with known mental issues, yelling at her daughter for an unknown reason when daughter was leaving the residence. Complainant said both the neighbor and daughter left and she wanted the incident documented as it scared her daughter, but did not wish anything pursued criminally.
Missing Person - 2000 block West Bench Road Othello
Complainant contacted dispatch to report her son missing from the location. Shortly after, complainant called back and advised her son returned home and no longer needed law enforcement assistance.
Alarm - 300 block South Michel Lane Othello
False alarm at the location.
Littering - 2200 block Deborah Court Othello
Complainant contacted dispatch to report garbage being thrown onto his property. Deputies attempted contact with the complainant with negative results.
Traffic Offense - South 1st Avenue and East Hemlock Street Othello
While on patrol deputies initiated a traffic stop at the location. It was learned the driver was operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. Jessica Chavez, 36, of Othello was arrested, cited and released from the scene.
Suspicious - 600 block East 3rd Street Lind
Complainant advised of a male subject saying he was from the census bureau. After the complainant answered census questions, the subject left. The complainant did not see the subject get into a vehicle. No further reports on this subject were received.
Suspicious - West Cunningham Road and South Country Lane Othello
Deputies responded to the location for a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in the area. The vehicle left the area before deputies arrived.
January 5
Animal Problem - West Bench Road and South Kielian Lane Othello
Report of a cow on the road.
Suspicious - 2200 block West Cunningham Road Othello
Deputies were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle call at the location. Deputies located a vehicle matching the description that belonged in the area. The vehicle was unoccupied and off the road.
Traffic Accident - West Lee Road and South Reynolds Road Othello
Report of a hit and run traffic collision at the location. Deputies contacted the victim driver and checked the area for the suspect vehicle. Investigation is ongoing.
Traffic Accident - North Highway 395 near milepost 92 Ritzville
Deputies were enroute to training and observed a vehicle sitting on its side off the roadway. Deputies contacted the driver who advised she was not injured. Deputies cleared the scene once WSP arrived.
Animal Problem - East Weber Road and North Van Vleet Road Ritzville
Report of an injured dog in the area. The owner of the dog was contacted and will be handling the situation.
Citizen Assist - 2000 BLK E SR 26 Washtucna
Complainant advised of ongoing problems with a subject. Deputies counseled the subject about the various issues as requested by the complainant.
Juvenile Problem - West Charla Lane and South Diana Lane Othello
While on patrol, deputies contacted a vehicle at the location. Deputies contacted an adult male and a juvenile female. The juvenile’s guardian did not give the juvenile permission to be out of their residence. Father took custody of juvenile.
Traffic Hazard - 600 block South Eagle Road Othello
Deputies observed a vehicle parked in the middle of the roadway. The responsible removed the vehicle and advised it had broken down.
January 6
DUI - 2000 block West Bench Road Othello
While on patrol, a traffic stop was conducted at the location. During the stop, the driver was found to be under the influence. Aleyssa Janely Hernandez, 19, of Othello was booked into Adams County Jail for DUI. Selena Camacho-Calderon, 18, of Othello was arrested and cited for Minor in Consumption. Also arrested and cited was Abel A. Garcia, 18, for Minor in Consumption. The vehicle was towed from the scene for a search warrant.
Suspicious - East Koch Road Ritzville
Complainant advised of needles on the side of the roadway at the location. The used needles were gathered and later properly disposed of.
Citizen Assist - 600 block South Danielle Road Othello
Dispatch advised of a reported theft of a battery from a motor vehicle at the location. Deputies responded and contacted the complainant who advised the battery was taken during the night from the unsecured vehicle. It was later learned the battery wasn’t stolen and taken by complainant’s mechanic while he worked on the vehicle.
Trespassing - West Highway 26 and South Irby Road Othello
Dispatch advised of a subject jumping in and out of traffic at the location. Deputies responded to the area but prior to arrival, the subject was given a ride to the sheriff’s office by a good Samaritan. The subject was reportedly acting erratic and was given a ride to a retail store in the city of Othello. Deputies and Othello Police officers contacted the subject, who showed indications of being under the influence, was uncooperative and did not want to speak with deputies. The good Samaritan that gave the subject a courtesy ride advised the subject had been trespassing on his property prior to the ride but did not wish to be a victim of the trespassing. Subject walked from the scene.
Burglary - West Seidl Road Ritzville
Complainant advised of burglary that occurred at the location where various items were stolen including a trailer. Investigation is ongoing.
Violation of a Court Order - West Horacio Lane Othello
Dispatch advised of a reported violation of court order at the location. Deputies contacted the complainant and determined no violation had occurred, however, an assault without injury did occur. Complainant did not want to be a victim. Case will be forwarded to prosecutor’s office for review.
Suspicious - 900 block East Rosenoff Road Ritzville
Complainant called to advised there was an issue with a suspect taking advantage of his mother at the location. The suspect asked her to send money. The complainant is her son and was contacted by the bank before any transactions were made. The accounts were put on hold and new accounts are being made. No crime occurred and the complainant just wanted to make the sheriff’s office aware of the attempted fraud. Complainant doesn’t have any details as to who she talked to.
Threatening - 100 block North Main Street Washtucna
Complainant reported she is receiving threats from an unknown male suspect by phone. The subject calls during the day and all hours of the night as well. The complainant does not know who would be threatening her and she can’t change her number, because of a business she runs. Investigation is ongoing.
Suspicious - 600 block South Taylor Road Othello
While on patrol, deputies located an occupied passenger vehicle stopped at the park after hours. The vehicle’s occupants were contacted and advised of the park’s hours of operation.
Traffic Offense - South Taylor Road and West Panama Road Othello
Deputies observed a small passenger vehicle with an equipment violation. Rose E. Gutierrez, 19, of Othello was arrested, cited, and released from the scene for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
January 7
Welfare Check - 700 block South Sunset Acres Road Othello
Complainant contacted dispatch requesting deputies check the welfare of his mother. Deputies contacted the complainant’s mother, finding her to be well.
Suspicious 911 - 800 block South Reynolds Road Othello
Dispatch advised of a 911 hang-up, from a land line, at the location. Deputies checked the area, locating all gates and doors visible to be secure and no one present.
Suspicious - 700 block South Sunset Acres Road Othello
Dispatch advised of reported suspicious activity at the location. Deputies contacted the complainant who advised of seeing his window screen move approximately four hours prior but not calling for law enforcement. No damage and nothing suspicious could be observed with the window screen. Complainant then advised of unknown and unseen subjects letting air out of tires of family member’s vehicle. Complainant showed deputies the vehicle and all tires appeared inflated and nothing criminal observed. Complainant was acting erratic during his interaction with deputies.

Deputies contacted a suspicious vehicle at the location, and two males who behaved suspiciously but had not committed any crimes.
Suspicious - 2200 block West Rainier Road Othello
Complainant advised of a subject who threatened him with a firearm at the location. Deputies contacted everyone involved and it was determined to be an ongoing issue between neighbors. No firearms were used, all parties were trespassed from each other’s houses.
Citizen Assist - South Taylor Road and West Spur Lane Road Othello
Request for assistance at the location. Deputies gave the complainant a courtesy ride to the hospital, and provided several numbers to 24-hour hotlines.
Alarm - 2000 block West Bench Road Othello
Report of a commercial burglary alarm at the location. Dispatch advised the responsible was on their way to the location. Deputies found the building secure. The responsible arrived on scene and entry was made inside the building. It was determined some tires that were stacked fell over tripping the alarm.
