Library goes to winter hours

Ritzville – East Adams Library District began winter hours Jan. 4. The library, located at 302 W. Main Avenue, will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

They will be closed Monday, Jan. 20, in observance of Martin Luther King Day.

The library’s online resources are available at all times.

The Grab and Go table will not be outside the library in the winter, but craft bags will still be available once a month.

Snap Circuits and Makey Makey Kits are available for checkout to educators and homeschoolers. In the event of COVID-19 related shutdowns in schools, they will be made available to parents and guardians to checkout.

Curbside pick-up is still available for items placed on hold from the online catalog.

Patrons can call to schedule a time to pick up items.

A mobile hotspot has been set up at the Ralston Grange, and there is a sign posted with the Hotspot’s Wi-Fi name and password.

Printing, copying, faxing, scanning and/or laminating services are still available.

Mark Schoesler to be sworn in

Ritzville — Senator Mark Schoesler will be sworn in to his new term in the Senate Friday, Jan. 8, at the Adams County Courthouse.

Schoesler said this will be the first and only time he will have the opportunity to have his swearing-in ceremony in his own hometown.

District Court Judge Carolyn Benzel will swear him in. The time of day for the ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. this Friday as of press time.

The courthouse is located at 210 W. Broadway.
