Eagle auxiliary ladies make Christmas a little warmer

RITZVILLE – The Eagles Auxiliary members made Christmas this year warmer and more joyful for residents of Rose Garden Estates and East Adams Rural Hospital’s long term care division.

Auxiliary secretary Sharon Ooestrich said with generous donations from several members as well as non-members, the auxiliary was able to sponsor three families this year with Christmas gifts.

Monday, Dec. 14, the auxiliary sisters delivered cozy blankets to residents of Rose Garden Estates, delivered money and gift certificates to three Christmas Families, and donated $500 to the Giving Tree at SCTU (formerly Umpqua Bank).

“It was a great day yesterday,” Oestrich said Dec. 15. “Several members helped out with donations to our Christmas Families, so we were able to take on a third family this year. Even with the humbug, doom and gloom of Christmas this year, it’s turning out okay for some.”

Eighteen residents at Rose Garden Estates received warm and cozy blankets.

“If anybody needs help, they just need to get hold of myself or Sharon Ooestrich or any of us,” Madame President Patsy Allen said. “We will do what we can to help.”
