Trot off that turkey before Thanksgiving dinner

RITZVILLE – Don’t forget the Turkey Trot, the annual Thanksgiving morning tradition is happening tomorrow, Nov. 26, despite the lastest shut-downs.

In it’s 33rd year, the event won’t have it’s usual group beginning in front of the Ritz Theatre, but rather will be observing social distancing in a self-started, self-guided format. The goal, however, is the same as always — get outside and get some exercise as a healthy start to Thanksgiving. A clipboard will be placed in front of the Ritz Theatre for all participants to sign in. Organizers of the event are eager to see who showed up.

Those taking the Turkey Trot are asked to wear a face mask and be mindful of social distancing as they enjoy a three-mile tour of the Ritzville Path.

And on your way along the path that runs along Main Street out to the Fairgrounds, check out the new Storywalk installed by East Adams Library District with the help of ACE Hardware and the city Public Works crew.
