Local makes Dean’s List

GALESBURG, Illinois – Lacey Miller of Ritzville has been named to the Knox College Dean’s List of distinguished students for the 2020 Spring Term. To be named to the Dean’s List, a student must have earned at least 2.5 credits in the term, with a grade point average of 3.6 or better (on a 4.0 scale).

Miller’s major is Undecided at Knox.

Three on Honor Roll for SFCC

SPOKANE – Three local students made the honor roll at Spokane Falls Community College for spring quarter, which ended in June. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or above to be listed on the honor roll. Laurel Hayes of Lind, Devin Morrison of Ritzville and Carlos Murillo of Othello received the recognition, which recorded 1,545 students making the list for spring quarter.

At Spokane Community College, Ronni Vowels of Othello made the spring quarter honor roll.

According to school officials, approximately 34,000 students per year are enrolled in Community Colleges of Spokane.

Senior Menus

LIND – The senior center will be serving the following:

July 29: Clam chowder, egg salad sandwich, relish tray and dessert.

July 30: Mandarin chicken, stir fry veggies, Asian salad, egg roll and cookies.

July 31: BBQ pork sandwich, baked beans, coleslaw and dessert.

August 3: French toast, baked omelet, sausage, fruit and juice.

August 5: BBQ ribs,

baked potato, coleslaw, garlic bread and dessert.

The Lind Senior Center is still closed to in-house eating, but welcome take out and home delivery.

Ritzville – The H.E. Gritman senior center will be serving the following:

July 28: German lasagna, Ceaser salad,

and garlic knots.

July 29: Ground beef casserole and salad.

August 3: BLT salad and roll.

August 4: Cheeseburger, Jo Jo’s and veggie.

August 5: Chicken strips, fries and coleslaw.

All meals come with fruit, dessert and beverage. The senior center is open for in-house dining, and also does take out or home delivery.
