Lincoln County militia organizing

DAVENPORT — A group looking to establish an organized Lincoln County militia is planning to have its first meeting from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, at Memorial Hall.

The effort is being led by Randy Mace, a retired Marine and National Rifle Association gun safety instructor.

Mace said an active militia can assist local law enforcement and protect local communities in case of emergency.

“We are living in a time when our law enforcement officers are outnumbered by violent anti-American groups,” Mace shared. “We are reestablishing a ‘lawful militia’ in Lincoln County that can provide immediate backup to our sheriff or elsewhere if called upon.”

Mace said the group goals include education.

“By coming to the meeting you can learn what the second amendment is all about and what your responsibly is to the militia,” Mace shared.

Training offered through the militia group will include information on obtaining a Ham radio license, trauma medical response, as well as search and rescue skills.
