Fireworks on tap for July 4

Rodeo planned for Franklin County's Basin City

SPRAGUE — Four Seasons Campground and Resort on Sprague Lake in Lincoln County will be hosting a professional fireworks display Saturday, July 4, beginning around 9:30 p.m. and lasting about 25 minutes. A small entry fee will be charged. People are welcome to picnic or barbecue on the grounds.

In Spokane, fireworks will take place at the Dwight Merkel Sports complex, Ferris High School, Avista Stadium and Plante’s Ferry Sports Stadium. The shows begin simultaneously at 10 p.m. and are expected to last six minutes.

Fireworks will be discharged in the City of Endicott in Whitman County, starting at dusk. The fireworks will be set off across the street from the elementary/middle school. Consumer fireworks can be set off in the town of Endicott Friday, July 3, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, July 4, from 9 a.m. to midnight.

In Franklin County, fireworks will be set off in Basin City, in conjunction with their Fourth of July Parade and Freedom Rodeo. Friday, July 3, starts off with rodeo slack at 8 a.m., followed by a rodeo performance at 6 p.m. and a dance afterward. Saturday, Fourth of July events begin with a parade at 10 a.m. A second rodeo performance starts at 6 p.m., followed by the fireworks at 9 p.m.

The Ritzville Foursquare Fireworks Booth is selling fireworks to support youth programs. The booth is located in the Conoco parking lot, where they will remain through July 3. They are open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
