Ritzville police calls for June 10-17

RITZVILLE — Here are the police calls from June 10-17:

June 10

23:49 Peeping Tom: a Ritzville Police Officer, Adams County Deputy and a WSP Trooper responded to a report of a suspect looking in a bedroom window. When the suspect denied being at the residence, he was warned if he returned, he would be arrested and booked into jail.

June 11

10:55 A device commonly used to smoke heroin was discovered at the little park on E. Cherry. The reporting party requested additional patrols in the area due to an older crowd of youth frequenting the skate park and smoking and drinking. The complainant was asked to call when the activity was going on, and a police officer would respond.

11:26 An officer responded to a report of a domestic in progress in the 100 block of West Main Ave. A female subject was located, who advised the domestic was verbal only. Options for her safety were discussed, and she said she would be leaving the area to get away from the suspect.

16:58 Law enforcement officers recovered a 1995 Ford Ranger stolen from the Ritzville Hospital. It was reported to have been parked at 10th and Adams shortly before 1 p.m., with the keys in it, and 3/4 tank of gas. A subject who lives in the Moses Lake area had been released from the Adams County Jail earlier in the day, so the Moses Lake Police Department was alerted. The vehicle was discovered at the suspect’s residence, taken to the Moses Lake Police Department, and held for a representative of the hospital to retrieve it the next day. The suspect was arrested for possession of narcotics, and booked into Grant County Jail. The suspect gave a full confession. A report will be filed with the Adams County Prosecutor requesting the suspect be charged with theft of the vechicle, which had no apparent damage upon return to the hospital.

19:49 Report of medication being stolen in the recent past. Investigation is ongoing.

20:25 Report of a possible sex offense to a juvenile was received and referred to an outside agengy, as it did not occur in Ritzville.

June 12

07:30 A subject in Lind requested an officer respond to an apartment complex in Ritzville to assist with gaining entry into a locked apartment so the ambulance could address a medical condition. The apartment manager unlocked the door and the ambulance crew was assisted as needed.

June 13

19:50 Report of suspicious activity involving a maroon vehicle at a local truck stop.

21:32 Report of a suspicious green Jeep Cherokee in the area of a house that had been burglarized recently.

June 14

08:06 Report of an unruly customer received from a local restaraunt. Responding officer determined an argument had occurred over the customer parking his truck and trailer close to the door for easier access for a handicapped passenger.

09:34 Disagreement over a vehicle resulted in the complainant being told to call a tow truck and have the vehicle impounded off his property.

22:10 Noise complaint of juveniles skate boarding in the area.

June 15

09:56 Report of a building on Main Ave having the front door kicked in. Responding officer discovered the building was broken into the previous evening. Responsible party was contacted, and found damage was done to some classic cars and some hand tools were missing. Photos were down loaded from a game camera, and the case remains under investigation.

10:47 Report of a theft from a clothing drop box on Palouse was received, and a suspect said she had placed several bags in the bin, but took one back that wasn’t supposed to be dropped off.

08:44 A call advising of a citizen dispute was received. The subjects were contacted and a vehicle was located and retrieved for the complainant.

13:00 A report was received of a well-dressed Middle Eastern male subject using high pressure tactics to sell costume jewelry was received from a local gas station. The call came in one hour after the subject was confronted and told to leave.

June 16

19:35 Request for a welfare check received from a subject living out of the area. Contact was made and the person said she does not like to talk to the complainant because she is usually intoxicated when she calls.

20:03 Officer responded to a report of a domestic assault taking place outside of an apartment complex. Victim said she was not assaulted. Her ex-boyfriend tried to pull her purse off her shoulder, and she fell down. She refused to provide a statement stating she was not assaulted or hurt.

June 17

08:17 A third party report was received from an address on west 7th Ave. advising a disorderly subject was pounding on the door looking for his ex-girlfriend. The subject was contacted a short time later but refused to talk to the officer.

10:29 A report of a disorderly subject playing loud music yelling his ex-girlfriend’s name was received. The complainant told him to be quiet and move on as she was not at his residence. Words were exchanged and the subject left. He was not located in the area.
