Pastime Reopens

Ritzville - The Pastime reopened Wednesday, June 10.

"It's like opening the business all over again. I'm like, 'Wait, I just did this over a year ago," Aimee Guiles said. She and partner Dave Benedict opened the bar, a town staple for decades, the second week in March, 2019. "There's no bar seating available and we won't be hosting Karaoke or other events right now. We're going to hold off a few weeks until we get our feet wet," Guiles said. She is currently without the help of Benedict, being treated for injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. By her side for the expected "opening day" rush were cook Will Schwartz and bartender Ily Doyl; also helping was Laurie Schwartz. "It's going to be a little weird getting back into the swing of things," Guiles said. "We're just happy to be open." Happy, too, were the customers. First through the door was Ben Goodson.
