Letter to the editor policy

The Ritzville Adams County Journal publishes letters of civic nature relating to area, state and national issues and politics. Letters should be limited to 250 words, and any cited facts should be attributed to the source of information.

Letters may not contain personal attacks, profanity or cite other media. Please keep letters to a single subject. We do not publish “thank you” letters; contact our advertising staff.

Writers will be limited to one letter per month. No chain letters — those are letters written by one person and signed by more than one, or one letter emailed to multiple publications. Letters must include complete contact information, including hometown.

Letters relating to campaigns and ballot measures will not be printed the week prior to any election. Letters should be emailed to [email protected]. All letters will be edited for grammar, punctuation and brevity, but not content. Hand-written letters may be dropped off at our office at 216 W. Railroad Ave., or mailed to our P.O. Box 288, Ritzville, WA 99169. For questions, contact Journal Editor Katie Teachout at 509-397-4333 or Publisher Roger Harnack at 509-659-1020.
