Boys, girls seeded No. 2 in NE2B-South
RITZVILLE — Both Lind-Ritzville/Sprague basketball squads will be the No. 2 seed of Northeast 2B-South division at the district tournament this week at West Valley High School in Spokane. More importantly, both teams earned a first-round bye. The boys and girls Broncos will open play on Thursday. .
The boys will take on Jenkins High School (Chewelah) at 8 p.m. in the main gym. Jenkins, the north division’s No. 3 seed, opened play on Monday by beating Asotin 61-37.
The Broncos have not faced Jenkins this season. Should the Broncos win, they would face the winner Wilbur Creston and St. George in the semi finals. Should they lose, they would drop to the consolation bracket and would still be alive for third place.
The girls will take on the Kettle Falls at 6:30 p.m. in the fieldhouse. Kettle Falls made it this far by beating Upper Columbia Academy 60-28 on Monday. A win would mean a semi-final-matchup against the winner of the game between Colfax and St. George.
The top four teams at districts advance to the regional tournament.
