Eastern Washington Council of Governments to meet Friday

Presentation expected from Rep. McMorris Rodgers

DAVENPORT - The Eastern Washington Council of Governments will hear from Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers and discuss regional issues when it meets at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 31.

The meeting is open to the public and takes place in the Lincoln County Courthouse, 450 Logan St.

Discussion of a contract with Ferry County and a presentation from McMorris Rodgers, R-Spokane, will lead off the meeting.

The group follow up those items with a report on state and federal matters, the state Voting Rights Act, and wolf and cougar issues.

Council members will also discuss the National Park Service, federal Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Forest Service, Columbia Basin and legislation.

The meeting will close with updates from Eastern Washington counties, an open discussion and any new business brought before the board.

The council will not meet again until March 27.
