A fundraiser for the Cody family will be held at the Big Bend Bowling Alley in Ritzville this Saturday, Jan. 18.
The event will raise funds for the family of Jess Cody, a Ritzville woman who was killed in a wrong-way collision near Lind on Dec. 29. Cody’s husband, Jeremiah, and three of their children were transported to hospitals in Ritzville and Spokane. The Spokane woman who was driving the car that was going the wrong way was also killed in the incident.
The fundraiser features a spaghetti feed, bowling, silent auction, raffle and karaoke. The spaghetti feed and bowling lasts from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Dinner costs $15 per person for those who have bought a ticket and $20 at the door. Bowling costs $5 per person. The silent auction ends at 8 p.m. and karaoke lasts from 8 p.m. to midnight.
Tickets can be purchased at Jen’s Java Junction, Umpqua Bank or Big Bend Bowling Alley.
A GoFundMe page was also started for the Cody family following the incident and is still accepting donations. So far, 122 donors have raised $9,630 via the GoFundMe fundraiser. The funds raised go toward medical bills and funeral costs for the family.
