School boards shuffle duties in prep for 2020

RITZVILLE - The Lind and Ritzville school boards have made some reorganizational moves ahead of the new year. The moves were discussed and approved at the district’s final meeting of the year on Dec. 19.

In Ritzville, all five board members will remain in place for 2020. Marci Miller has been elected by her peers as the new chair of the board. Miller replaces Layne Iltz, who then got voted as vice-chair.

The rest of the Ritzville School Board consists of Scott Carruth, Reid Phillips and Greg Galbreath.

The Lind School Board will once again be one member short at the start of 2020 due to the retirement of Bev Kulm. Much of the current year was spent down one member until Jim Weidemann was hired to board in October.

Kulm spent 20 years on the board.

The Lind board voted to retain Jani Melcher as its chair for another year and chose Josh Hernandez as its vice chair.

The rest of the Lind School Board consists of Adam Labes and Weidemann.
