Oct. 13 — Deputies assisted the Ritzville Police Department with a domestic assault at E. 8th Avenue & Palouse Street in Ritzville. Deputies remained on scene until they were no longer needed.
Oct. 13 — Deputies responded to assist Washington State Fish & Wildlife, who had contacted subjects trespassing at E. 2nd Street & N “1” Street in Lind. Deputies remained on scene while citations were issued for the matter.
Oct. 13 — A fire was reported in the area near milepost 71 on Highway 395. Lind Fire requested a deputy check the area for the fire. The area was checked and no fire was located.
Oct. 13 — A complainant reported subjects trespassing on his property on W. Schrag Road. Subjects were contacted at the location. Brett Haase was cited and released from the scene for criminal trespassing in the 2nd degree.
Oct. 13 — A complainant advised of a trespassing call at N. Damon Road. After an investigation was completed, the complainant did not want to pursue the matter criminally.
Oct. 14 — Deputies responded to a juvenile problem at the 2800 block of E. Mason Lane in Ritzville. An investigation was conducted where the complainant only wanted the matter documented.
Oct. 15 — Dispatched to a traffic hazard call at E. Danekas Road & N. Sage Road in Ritzville. The complainant was contacted and advised of a citizen dispute over driving issues with an unknown subject.
Oct. 16 — A complainant reported a trespassing call at N. Seivers Road in Lind. The complainant was contacted, who advised after calling for assistance that he had identified the subjects and they had permission to be on the property.
Oct. 17 — A complainant reported striking a deer while driving to work on E. Danekas Road in Ritzville, and advised that the deer was still blocking the roadway. Deputies removed the deer from the roadway and completed a collision report.
Oct. 17 — A complainant reported a yellow or cream colored vehicle near N. Batum Road and W. Rosenoff in Ritzville. The vehicle was reportedly driving slowly and the complainant didn’t recognize the vehicle. When the complainant approached the vehicle, it took off at a high rate of speed.
Oct. 17 — A complainant advised of a boater in Sprague Lake that appeared to be in trouble. Lincoln County’s Sheriff Office was aware of the issue and advised they would be handling the call.
Oct. 17 — A complainant advised of a young child choking. Deputies responded to the location. Prior to arrival, it was learned that the child had swallowed the obstruction and was breathing again.
Oct. 18 — A complainant advised while checking inside a foreclosed residence that dried marijuana plants were located. The complainant was advised that they could dispose of the marijuana.
Oct. 19 — A complainant reported an assault that occurred on a bus and that the victim was unconscious on W State Route 26 near Lind. Deputies responded to the location and contacted the bus. EMS arrived and transported the victim to the hospital. Benjamin Steel was arrested and booked into jail for assault in the 2nd degree.
