Ritzville Vietnam vet celebrated at ceremony in Moses Lake

Ritzville's Deni Atkinson (right) was one of more than a dozen Vietnam veterans who were honored and celebrated on July 29 in Moses Lake.

Rep. Dan Newhouse (left), who hosted the event, presented the veterans with a service lapel pin and certificate of appreciation for their service in commemorating 50 years since the beginning of the Vietnam War.

The end of 1969 marked the beginning of the first draft lottery since World War II.
