Ritzville Museum meeting held, Board looking for volunteers

The Ritzville Museum Board held their annual meeting and election of officers on Tuesday, May 14, 2019.

New elected officers for the 2019-2020 year are Randy Flyckt, Board Chair, Dale Anderson, Vice President in charge of the Depot, Susie Kirkendall, Vice President in charge of the Burroughs Home, Callie Moore, Treasurer and Priscilla Thompson, Secretary. Kylie Fullmer, Janet Sanger and Mickie Pittman will also serve on the Board.

They are looking forward to a special opening on Memorial Day weekend so visitors and alumni will have the opportunity to visit each museum. The Alumni Room at the Depot Museum will be of particular interest to those attending the banquet this year.

The Museum will open for regular summer hours on June 1.

The board is seeking volunteers to serve as hosts for each museum and is looking to the community. This could mean a two- or four-hour commitment, with a quick tour and training by someone on the board. If you think you might be interested, please call Dale Anderson at 509-659-1794 or Susie Kirkendall at 509-660-1089. If you think you might serve better as a groundskeeper for the Burroughs Home, they are looking for you.

This is an opportunity to get involved in the community and perhaps learn a little more about the early history of Ritzville to share with visitors this summer.
