The Ritzville Chapter of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) held their Annual Event on April 10 honoring our local high school STEM students. The girls are selected by the high school teachers for their achievements in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. This is a program that is held throughout the United States to encourage young women to continue their education.
From Lind-Ritzville High School is Ellie Gering, daughter of Chris and Melanie Gering for Math, Grace Greenwalt, daughter of Amy and Steve Greenwalt for Technology, and Alibama Rushing, daughter of Erika Thompson was selected for Science.
From Sprague High School was Alexis Gilchrist, daughter of Deborah Gilchrist for both Science and Technology and Jade Rios, Daughter of Patricia Romero, for Math.
Each candidate receives a certificate of recognition for their good works.
