Ritzville Police Department Dispatch Reports: March 14, 2019

Feb. 20, 08:25 — A subject residing on East 6th Ave. called to report someone was in the basement and she was going down there to get him out. Instructions were provided to the responding office to come in the side door. The officer responded and did as requested. Upon the officers arrival there were no foot prints located in the snow around the residence. There was no one locate inside the residence except the owner. The officer told the complainant there were no footprints in the snow around her house. The officer was told the resident did not know how he was getting in but he was getting in.

Feb. 20, 15:14 — A request for a welfare check was received for a resident on West Main Ave. The on-duty officer responded and contacted the subject living at the residence. He offered assistance but was told no assistance was needed and cleared. The complainant was advised of the officer’s findings.

Feb. 21, 08:25 — A complaint was received that a subject living at a residence on West Main Ave. has been observed urinated in the back yard of a residence several times between 05:00 and 06:00. An officer was able to make contact with the owner of the residence and explain the concerns of one of the neighbors. It was determined to be a relative and the owner will be speaking to him and requesting he use the facility in the house in the future.

Feb. 21, 08:47 — A complaint called the office to report the front door on a local business was part way open and no one was around. The responsible person for the business was notified. When available the on duty officer checked the business and found the business still unsecure. The responsible arrived and the business was checked and found to be in order.

Feb. 21, 09:09 — A complainant was received from a subject in Seattle reporting a wallet and a set of keys had been stolen from a residence in Ritzville. An officer responded and contacted the owner of the keys and wallet who advised he thinks he just misplaced them in his residence.

Feb. 21, 17:56 — A report was received from a subject that thought a neighbor may be being taken advantage of by some subjects staying with him. The matter was referred to Adult Protective Services and an officer will assist in the investigation when a representative from APS arrives to make contact with the subject. The same subject was contacted last year and advised everything was fine.

Feb. 21, 20:35 — A report was received of possible child abuse taking place. An officer responded and contacted the complainant then interviewed the mother of the child. A referral was made to Child Protective Services and the investigation in ongoing.

Feb. 22, 00:10 — An officer contacted and arrested Kaytlin N. Vanderventer, 28, of Ritzville on a warrant for Theft in the 3rd Degree issued by the Ritzville District Court. She was transported and booked into the Adams County Jail.

Feb. 22, 09:38 — A complaint was received from a local business advising a local subject had written three back checked at their business. The complainant requested an officer contact the subject and advised them if they did not make good on the checks they wanted them to be prosecuted. The message was passed on to the subject that wrote the checks. The subject said she was the victim of fraud on her bank account and had reported it to her bank. She will be contacting the local business and taking care of the checks.

Feb. 22, 11:58 — An officer contacted and arrested Marcus J. Chamberlain 26 of Ritzville on a Felony Warrant issued by the Department of Corrections for Escape Community Custody. He was transported and booked into the Adams County Jail.

Feb. 22, 12:26 — While on patrol an officer observed three illegally parked vehicle on East 3rd Ave. that were creating a traffic hazard. The officer made contact with the responsible owners, requesting they be moved to safe parking areas.

Feb. 22, 12:47 — An officer was requested to respond to a local motel for a medical emergency. The subject was transported to the hospital by the officer.

Feb. 22, 13:34 — Information was provided to an officer regarding a situation that had taken place at the Lind Middle School. The information was passed on to the on duty Deputy for the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.

Feb. 22, 19:25 — A call was received from a subject requesting the police respond to a local business regarding an assault that had taken place. The complainant did not want anything done about being assaulted but the officer transported a subject to her residence. The incident report was forwarded to the Washington State Liquor Control Board.

Feb. 22, 23:06 — A report was received regarding missing children. An officer responded and the children were located at a friend’s house and they were fine.

Feb. 24, 12:56 — A suspicious 9111 call was received from a local motel. An officer responded and located the origin of the call. It was determined small children were playing with a phone and everything was ok.

Feb. 25, 13:26 — An officer made a traffic stop at Division and 1st Ave. in Ritzville and arrested Darrin L. Hodgson Sr. 51 of Ritzville for Driving While License Suspended in the 3rd Degree. Hodgson was booked into the Adams County Jail.
