From hamsters to horses, SNYP (Spay Neuter Your Pet) provides financial assistance to spay/neuter your pets.
Created in October 2015, SNYP’s primary goal is to provide financial assistance to spay/neuter companion pets. They have provided assistance with the cost of spaying/neutering 177 companion dogs and cats so far. They have also, with the help of community members, worked to reduce the number of feral cats in Ritzville, spaying/neutering 110 feral cats in the last 3 years.
SNYP provides vouchers in the amount of $100 for female dogs, $75 for male dogs, $80 for female cats and $50 for male cats. The vouchers can be used at the vet of your choices and are available to residents of Ritzville, Lind, Washtucna, Benge and Sprague as long as funds are available.
Currently, SNYP is doing their annual fundraiser in the form of a raffle. Raffle tickets are $1.00. The drawing will be at their booth at the Christmas Bazar on December 1st. There are three prizes consisting of a hand made quilt and two separate goodie boxes. Raffle tickets can be bought at Wheatland Bank or from board members Mikki Kison, Janet Bowman or Leslie Greenwalt.
At the bazaar, they will kick off a three-month special to fully fund the amount of spay/neutering for cats funded by a grant from the Washington Federation of Animal Control and Care. There are a limited number of vouchers available and will have some different requirements from their normal vouchers. These vouchers can only be used at the Ritzville Vet Clinic. The voucher will cover the whole cost of the spay/neuter but are for cats only and will not include pain medication. The owner must pay that cost.
If you would like to request a voucher, contact them via a private message to their Facebook page.
