Washtucna Heritage Museum raises over $5,000 at fundraiser

Washtucna Heritage Museum’s third annual fundraiser was held on Oct. 19, which raised about $5,300 for the museum.

A crowd of about 65 people attended the fundraiser, where they were treated to a Baked Potato Bar from Rollin’ Coal of Tucna. The Bauman Farm contributed potatoes and the Stahl Hutterites donated German sausage, red potatoes and sauerkraut.

Entertainment was provided by J.J. Dion and Kriss Botino. There was a silent auction as well as the live auction, with over 50 items being bid on, including a Halloween-themed auction.

The Washtucna Heritage Museum is continuing their raffle with eight ‘on the road’ events in the area. The three raffle items will be drawn at the Washtucna School Concert & Christmas Party on Dec. 20.

The Washtucna Heritage Museum is open on Saturdays from 1 to 5 p.m. Volunteers are invited to help in order for the museum to be open more often.
