41st Annual Mennonite Country Auction

The Mennonite Country Auction (MCA) will once again be raising money for relief efforts nationally and around the world conducted through the Mennonite Central Committee.

This year marks the 41st annual sale and auction. It will be held at the Menno Mennonite Church on Oct. 6.

The event has a little something for everyone. Early risers can enjoy breakfast from 7-9 am. Then, one can venture in to the fellowship hall to check out the beautiful hand and machined quilts, wall hangings, comforters, and afghans.

At 10 a.m. the sale booths open with a variety of items including, local and international crafts, jewelry from The Recycled Spoon, baked goods and produce, quilting supplies, and yard sale type items.

Kids can enjoy the huge bounce house and booth especially for them with games, toys, and other cool items.

The popular food booths also open at 10 a.m. where bacon, ham, sausage, Amish cheese, stone ground flour, fresh pressed apple cider and apple butter can all be taken home to enjoy.

The Bethel Mountain Band will entertain the crowd in the big tent starting at 10:30 a.m. The Oregon-based group will be singing their blend of gospel and bluegrass harmonies.

They will also be performing during the Sunday morning church service at Menno starting at 10. Everyone is welcome with a provided lunch to follow.

Kraut Runzas, German sausage, hamburgers, gyros, soup, and a pork dish are on the main menu for lunch. But save room for dessert where there’s pie, ice cream, and New Year’s Cookies to enjoy.

At noon the auction will start under the tent. This year’s items range from the variety of quilts to a Honda motorcycle, Chevy Suburban, handmade wooden items, antique cash register, paintings, smokeless fire pit, new flat screen TV, and many more items still to come.
