Lavina D. Baumann passed away September 7, 2018 in Everett, WA, at the age of 92.
Lavina was the first of two children born to Edmund and Bertha Kusler in North Dakota. The Kuslers moved to Ritzville in 1941; Lavina graduated from RHS in 1943.
In 1947 Lavina married Lloyd C. Baumann. They farmed south of Ritzville and raised their family of 4 children. During these years Lavina served as an organist at Trinity Methodist Church, taught Sunday school, and was a deputy county clerk at the courthouse.
In 1979 Lloyd and Lavina moved to the Olympic Peninsula where they enjoyed years of salmon fishing and winter trips to Arizona prior to Lloyd’s death in 2005.
In 2017 Lavina moved to Washington Oakes, a retirement community in Everett. Wherever she went Lavina made new friends, but kept the old.
She is survived by her children Linda (Don) Holcomb, Hoquiam; Charles Baumann, Concord, CA; Doug (Susan) Baumann, San Antonio, TX; Carolyn (Kevin) Donnelly, Everett; her brother Don (Barb) Kusler, Snohomish; and 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and friends. Two grandchildren predeceased her.
A service will be held at the Drennan and Ford Funeral Home in Port Angeles on September 21 at 2:00 pm. An online guestbook and a slide show will be available at Drennan and Ford’s website, http://www.drennanford.com. Lavina will later be inurned at Tahoma National Cemetery alongside her husband.
