Donald Arthur Arlt passed away July 13, 2018 at his home in Ritzville, WA.
Don was born on Dec. 25, 1932 in Schrag, WA. He was one of 4 children born to Lucille and Arthur Arlt.
After Arthur’s passing, Lucille remarried to Leo Krehe. Don graduated from Ritzville High School in 1957 and from there went straight into farming and ranching.
Over the years, he became an excellent welder, neighbor and friend.
Many people would stop by and ask Don if he could help fabricate or come up with a special idea to help fix their problem. He always stopped what he was doing to tackle their challenge, which he really enjoyed.
For fun Don took up playing snooker with fellows at the Pastime in Ritzville. He also did some hunting, fishing and really liked to play poker.
In the last years of his life he really enjoyed the playing the slot machines.
He is preceded in death by his wife Rita, two sisters; Lorraine and Frances; granddaughter Heather; his parents and stepfather.
He is survived by his children: Brad (Debra) Arlt of Ritzville, Marsha (Randy) Teske of Ritzville, Donita (John) Shelton of Spokane, Kevin (Josie Campbell) Arlt of Ritzville, Suzanne (Gary Schoesler) Meek; and 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, a special friend Cheryl Foy and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a public viewing Thursday July, 19, 2018 from 12 noon to 7:00 p.m. at Danekas Funeral Home in Ritzville, WA.
A Funeral Service will be held July 20, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Ritzville, WA with a reception to follow in the basement of the church.
