Eastern Adams County's Only Independent Voice Since 1887

Terry Fred Tufts

Note: With alumni returning home for the annual banquet, the Ritzville High School Class of 1967 wanted to take this opportunity to remember these classmates, who did not have published obituaries at the time of their passing.

Terry was born Nov. 20, 1948, and died Feb. 7, 2016. Terry graduated from Washington State University in 1971 with a Bachelor of Arts in Hotel and Restaurant Administration; he remained a true loyal Coug fan.

He was employed by Westin Hotels, Harrah’s Casino, Treasure Chest Casino, Goodworks and Options.

After Terry lost his New Orleans home in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, he moved to Hammond, LA and lived there until his death. He enjoyed cooking, traditions of Mardi Gras, plus his volunteer work for the needy and homeless.

Terry organized an RHS class reunion #48, on 9-15-14 in Coeur d’Alene; preparing a “Taste of Louisiana” dinner along with presenting history/cultural aspects of New Orleans; and continued to share his wit/humor with others.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hartley ‘John’ and Dorothy (Fenger) Tufts. His brother, Larry Tufts (RHS Class of 1970) of North Pole, Alaska, passed away on April 5, 2017. Terry and Larry will be inurned near their grandparents in Chester, Montana.
