Fundraisers for Johnston on May 19-20

The community of Washtucna is banding together to support Nik Johnston, who suffered a stroke earlier in the year and continues rehabilitation treatments. Johnston served as the Washtucna Fire Chief for many years and has been an active member in the community.

On May 19-20, there will be a yard sale at 505 West May Street in Washtucna, with 100 percent of the proceeds being donated to Johnston to assist with medical expenses. The yard sale will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.

Also on Sunday, Sonny’s Tavern will be featuring a barbecue meal, starting at noon. The meal includes a tri-tip sandwich, baked beans, and potato salad or coleslaw for $12.99.

Sonny’s will also have a bake sale on May 20 at 4 p.m., with all baked goods donated for sale.

Any individual who is interested in donating items to the yard or bake sales are asked to call 650-7123.
