Born on October 14, 1939 in Ritzville Washington, Gail entered into rest on April 14, 2018 in Spokane Washington.
Gail graduated from Ritzville high school, Ritzville, Washington class of 1957. She married Guy Robert Smith in June, 1957 and lived in North Spokane where they started raising a family.
Gail absolutely and totally loved her family first; Gail was preceded in death by her husband, Guy R Smith, her parents, four brothers and one sister.
Gail is survived by one sister Joyce Wilson, two sons, Steven R Smith, Spokane, WA and Scott B Smith, (wife Cathy,) Nine Mile Falls, WA. She leaves four grandkids, Tiffany, Guy, Kahel, Nick and numerous step grandchildren as well as 19 great grandchildren and step grandchildren and two great great grandchildren, and two nephews, Alan and John Sauer.
Gail’s second love were the dozens and dozens of animals of all kinds and varieties that she raised and cared for during her lifetime. Puppies, kitties, Parrots and all types of animals who needed shelter mom, with dad’s help, took care of them all.
Gail and Guy spent countless days helping out and rescuing animals as well as donating food and supplies to Spokane area animal shelters.
The family would like to thank North Side Hospice of Spokane for the kindness and care they provided to mom and her family. They provided her the comfort she deserved while she was surrounded by loved ones as she succumbed to the effect of signet cell bladder cancer.
