As the City of Ritzville, our function is to provide you with police, fire, water, sewer, streets, garbage, parks, and other services.

We are also asked by you, the taxpayer, to pass and enforce certain laws that provide general safety and welfare of Ritzville’s citizens.

To continue our public service obligations, there are certain charges and fees that we must collect. These include utility fees, building permits, animal licenses, business licenses and so forth.

We are currently struggling with businesses and property owners who are not paying their annual business or solicitor’s license, building permits and other fees.

Beginning this spring, part time city workers will be observing compliance violations and the city will be contacting those folks.

If you have recently performed any kind of construction or hired a contractor, it is your responsibility to ask the city if there are any associated fees.

Please consider whether you are one of those that needs to contact us. Please call if you’re unsure, we are happy to help. These fees and charges are for the betterment of our community.
