Matthew Joseph Johnson

Matthew Joseph Johnson, 49, died on March 22 after a short, fierce battle with cancer with his sister, Gina, by his side.

Matt was born in Colfax on Jan. 11, 1969. He was raised in Sprague by his parents, Glen and Mary Johnson.

Matt graduated from Sprague High School in 1987. After high school, he served in the Army and attended WSU. He loved to tell stories of his time overseas in the military.

Matt married Paula Whitney in 1996 and they had three children. During this time, he started his own trucking business, he enjoyed taking the kids with him sometimes on his trips across the country.
